Eckart Hübner is bassoonist of the Albert Schweitzer Quintet, which recorded the much praised complete recording of Anton Reichas' wind quintets for cpo. But also as a soloist he has proven his musicality and his eminent technical ability on our label. A year ago, he suggested recording four bassoon concertos by Francois Devienne (1759-1803), which we would rather take up as they enrich the not necessarily extensive concert literature for this instrument with beautiful music What is special about this recording, however, is that one of the concerts since its recording in 1934 has been regarded as a work by Mozart and that only recent research indicates that Devienne was a composer Also in this recording the Slovak Chamber Orchestra under Bohdan Warchal accompanies.
