Featuring young musicians from the Artemis Quartet, Strings Attached is an exploration of the dynamics of a string quartet. With these questions as a backdrop and punctuated by extensive examples of compositions by Beethoven, Verdi and Webern, this documentary places the spotlight on one of the most ambitious and enigmatic works ever written for a quartet: Beethoven's Great Fugue. The film is followed by a recital performed at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris that includes Beethoven's String Quartet Op.18 No.2, Verdi's Quartet in E Minor and Webern's Bagatelles Op.9, offering a representative sample of the diverse repertoire of the Artemis Quartet.
