"Killers of the Flower Moon" is a 2023 American epic western crime drama directed and produced by Martin Scorsese. The story is based on the 2017 book of the same name by David Grann and revolves around a series of murders in Oklahoma in the Osage Nation in the 1920s, committed after oil is discovered on the tribe's land. The film has an impressive cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone, with Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow and Brendan Fraser in supporting roles. The film music was composed by Scorsese's long-time collaborator Robbie Robertson, with whom he had a lifelong friendship after Robertson left The Band. The two worked together on The Last Waltz (1978), Raging Bull (1980), Casino (1995), Gangs Of New York (2002), The Wolf On Wall Street (2013) and The Irishman (2019), among others. Critics have described the original soundtrack to Killers Of The Flower Moon as "old-timey", "bluesy" and "percussive". Due to his death in August 2023, this is the last completed film score that Robertson created.
