Director Pierre Audi makes full use of the unique 17th century baroque theater machinery of Drottningholm and has a deep creative understanding of the profound drama of the work. He thus creates a production of Zoroastre that is entirely in keeping with Rameau's spirit. True to the form of the tragédie lyrique, the dances by choreographer Amir Hosseinpour perfectly match the gravity and meaning of the plot and music. The ensemble Les Talens Lyriques, reinforced by musicians from the orchestra and choir of Drottningholm Court Theatre, is expertly and passionately led into the musical stratosphere by music director Christophe Rousset.
