Popis
In addition to the classical and exposed trumpet concertos by Joseph Haydn and Johann Nepomuk Hummel, there were also other solo concertos for trumpet in the musical epoch known today as "classical". However, these concertos were not yet composed for the keyed trumpet, but for the valveless natural trumpet - an instrument on which the player can in principle only produce the notes of the natural tone series. The Hungarian trumpeter Krisztián Kováts interprets concertos by Johann Matthias Sperger, Johann Stamitz and others on a 4-hole model baroque trumpet with the nuanced ensemble L'arpa festante. Festive trumpet concertos in which timpani expressively reinforce the orchestra's tutti sound. This recording is intended to draw attention to the art of clarino playing, which has long been forgotten. An essential prerequisite for this is playing on original instruments which make it possible to come very close to the composer's sound intention. Compared to modern valve instruments, the baroque natural trumpet has a much longer body, which results in a sound spectrum rich in overtones. The repertoire recorded here was once performed by some highly privileged and specialised trumpeters whose artistry made it possible to imitate the articulation and ease of the human voice in the clarino register.
