If you are not yet familiar with Justin Townes Earle, he is the son of Steve Earle. And yes, his second name "Townes" could well have been inspired by Townes van Zandt. But that's not really the point. It's Earle's music that counts. "Time Shows Fools" is the first single from the new album "Single Mothers", which is probably his most personal album to date. In ten songs, he proves why he is often regarded as the "forefather" of contemporary Americana. In a way, the album also reflects the maturing process that Earle has gone through in recent years: the good man has experienced several (recently successful) rehabs, a wedding and a kind of life change in recent years. Yet he is only 32 years old. Single Mothers" was recorded live, together with the musicians that Justin Townes Earle usually has on tour with him. No overdubs, no additional vocals or musicians.
