The 'LIVE Album' with 26 songs was "simply terrific" (Rocktimes) ...and now this workaholic of the musical creative process presents us his fourth CD 'HENRIK FREISCHLADER recorded by Martin Meinschäfer', on which he played all instruments himself. What one believes to hear in parts as first-takes of a fantastically recorded band is based on an ingenious homogeneity of the individual instruments. Musically, the blues provides the foundation on which Freischlader creates 13 of his own compositions with influences from rock, soul, funk, jazz, country & pop. Bass, drums and organ create a rousing groove carpet for the guitar solos, the voice always varies close to the first-class own lyrics. What an all-rounder! Another treat and certainly a kind of key to the album (hence the title) is the truly outstanding sound quality. With old tube microphones, large 'audible' rooms, moving air and with the so important understanding of the natural timbres of the instruments, Martin Meinschäfer in his 'megaphon tonstudios' managed to revive the charm of the old recordings from the 60s and 70s through a warm sound.
