He has his roots in Wales. But when it comes to music, Dylan Fowler is a citizen of the world. And a fantastic guitarist almost by the way. But one whose soundscapes and landscapes almost make you forget that he plays the guitar and how well he plays it. As a composer between Celtic music from his homeland, jazz and Thai rhythm concepts, as an interpreter equally fascinated by Bulgarian music and Pat Metheny, Keith Jarrett and John Coltrane, Fowler once again playfully juggles with contrasts on "Ebb & Flow" ("Ebb & Flow") until they seem to dissolve in the magic of his new fingerstyle solo instrumentals on six steel strings. The complex becomes light and catchy, the meditative deeply alive and wide awake and joy ("Joy") equally exuberant and grounded. It's jazz, modern classical and folk all at once, ranging from the enigmatic beauty of "Naima" to the slightly Latin-tinged homage to James Taylor ("James") to the airy hymn to Welsh butterflies ("Iar Fach Yr Haf").
