Pilgrimage routes At the end of the 20th century, the Way of St. James experienced an unexpected renaissance, and with it the preoccupation with the rich musical heritage of this most important European pilgrimage route. With the plural title "Pilgrimages", the present concert recording of the ensemble Spielleyt - Early Music Freiburg not only focuses on the music of the Way of St. James, but also presents music from other pilgrimage destinations in Spain. Sources for the present recording include the Codex Calixtinus, the Llibre Vermell de Montserrat and the Cancionero de Palacio.
