“…Rondeau is one of the most natural performers one is likely to hear on a classical music stage these days. Affectation and ostentation are not part of his makeup and, once seated at the instrument, he and the harpsichord become one.” The Washington Post

Rondeau has described JS Bach, who has been part of his life since his childhood, as “daunting like a mighty mountain”, but at the same time feels that “his music is so full of humility, so generous, that we have the right and the duty to play it, to share it, and to take the hand that he extends to us.”
Popis
As early as 2015, the Washington Post praised the French harpsichordist Jean Rondeau as "one of the most promising and natural performers one can experience on the world's stages". The charismatic jack-of-all-trades also showed that he could more than fulfil the expectations placed in him away from the concert podium: with a musical journey through the works of the Bach dynasty, he now presents another recording that has what it takes to become a reference. Rondeau's first album Imagine exclusively featured works by the great Johann Sebastian. Here the harpsichordist illuminates the stylistic worlds of Bach's father and three of his sons - representatives of the huge Bach clan, the most music-laden family in world history. In addition to Johann Christian, they are Carl Philipp Emanuel and Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. All of the concertos are in the minor key, i.e. they lead into highly expressive emotional worlds - in the case of the sons, into those of the Sturm und Drang. As in Bach's day, the orchestral parts in Dynastie are simply cast. Thus the sound shifts towards chamber music and offers a "baroque sound" all of its own. Rondeau is not only characterized by an incredibly finely detailed articulation, which makes him one of the leading harpsichordists of his time - like hardly any other interpreter of early music, he also deals with the creative side: He created a film soundtrack with the music for the film Paula by Christian Schwochow, furthermore he is co-founder of the jazz project Note Forget - a stage for his jazz compositions.
