Violent Femmes is the legendary, self-titled debut album by the folk-punk heroes from Milwaukee. It was released in 1983 and contains classics such as "Blister in the sun" and "Gone Daddy Gone". On the album, the band combines elements of Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers with new new wave, acoustic folk and punk rock elements. Singer Gordon Gano wrote the songs while he was still at school - the album has since achieved cult status.
The self-titled debut album Violent Femmes from 1983 is bursting with teenage angst, punk sensibility and Violent Femmes' very own brand of edgy folk rock and became a cult hit. It contains the anthems "Blister in the Sun", "Please Do Not Go", "Gone Daddy Gone" and "Add It Up".
This extended 40th anniversary edition contains a wealth of previously unreleased demos, live tracks and more.
