Popis
"Nomad" was produced by Black Keys guitarist Dan Auerbach in Nashville. The Niger born singer and guitarist and his band were invited by Black Keys' member Dan Auerbach to his studio Easy Eyes Sound to record the album "Nomad" in Nashville. Auerbach immediately became a big fan of Bombino and his unique desert blues. The result, "Nomad", proves that two musicians of completely different origins can have a common home: Music. Bombino played in many sold-out halls and clubs in Europe and the USA and was praised by magazines such as Pitchfork and the radio station NPR in the program Fresh Air. Milo Miles of NPR called Bombino a "young performer with enough charisma and ingenuity that he could become the first Tuareg star". Already Bombinos first album "Guitars from Agadez, Vol. 2" (under the name Group Bombino), became a local radio success in 2009. In the same year Bombino met filmmaker Ron Wyman, who had heard Bombino's music on a cassette on a journey in the Agadez area. Wyman made Bombino the protagonist of his documentary film "Agadez, the Music and the Rebellion" and in 2011 he also produced his solo album "Agadez", which quickly became internationally known. NPR Music praised "Agadez" for its "great guitar licks", which Pitchfork called "red-hot." The BBC reviewed: "[Bombino's music] contains, in addition to its supposed simplicity, a subliminal power that makes many of the melodies flow into extremely gripping guitar jams. The choral songs deal with the struggle for unity and self-determination as well as longing love and the problems of a lonely shepherd's life."
