"After the War" is the seventh solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, originally released by Virgin Records in 1989. This version is the remastered version from 2002. It contains elements of Celtic music. The instrumental "Dunluce" is named after Dunluce Castle in Northern Ireland. On "Led Clones," Ozzy Osbourne, with whom Moore had collaborated before teaming up with Randy Rhoads, takes lead vocals. The song pokes fun at bands like Kingdom Come, which were popular at the time, and is based on a Led Zeppelin-like sound and image. "The song was great fun," Ozzy recalls, "and it was an honor to record with Gary. "Sisters of Mercy frontman Andrew Eldritch sings in the background on the songs "After the War," "Speak for Yourself" and "Blood of Emeralds." With the song "Blood of Emeralds," Moore again pays tribute to the memory of his longtime friend and colleague Phil Lynott.
