The title of Jaime Wyatt’s 'Felony Blues' is a nod to records like David Allan Coe’s 'Penitentiary Blues' and Johnny Cash’s 'Live From Folsom Prison'. The mostly autobiographical collection is chalk full of stories of conjugal romance, prison songs, and honky-tonk laments. She got busted at a young age for robbing her drug dealer and took a plea deal for 8 months in jail, a felony strike, 6 months of treatment and 3 years felony probation. Sonically, imagine a twangier Fleetwood Mac, or if Linda Rondstadt and the Rolling Stones had made a record. A striking figure with an old soul, and a voice like a force of nature, Wyatt is a sound to behold. The musicians on the record include top notch Americana and country pickers Ted Russell Kamp, fellow Angelino country songwriter Sam Outlaw and long time friend and drummer Freddy Bokkenheuser, now the touring drummer for Ryan Adams.
