As good as any compilation currently available, RG to Barbecue Bob contains solo work, cuts by the Georgia Cotton Pickers (w/ Buddy Moss and Curley Weaver), a Nellie Florence vocal, and a vocal duet with brother Charley Lincoln. The solo stuff offers decent variety, key for an artist as seem-samey as Bob. The broad twelve-string sound comes through clear as a bell as do the nasally vocals. This guy was no Blind Willie Mctell but he had an original sound, which in Piedmont blues is saying something.
