The full program
After 45 years, the complete recordings of Bob Dylan's celebrated Japan concerts are finally being released as "The Complete Budokan 1978".
At that time, the singer-songwriter embarked on a year-long world tour with eleven concerts in Japan, eight of them at the legendary Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo. Two of these concerts were recorded in their entirety and released in the same year as the live album "At Budokan", initially only in Japan. The reviews at the time were mixed. However, the fans loved the album, on which Bob Dylan and his band played many of their greatest hits in catchy versions. In response to international demand, the double album was finally released worldwide in April 1979.
Now, 45 years later, both recorded concerts are being released in their entirety for the first time. "The Complete Budokan 1978" contains a total of 58 songs on 4 CDs in a luxurious deluxe box, including 36 previously unreleased tracks. All tracks have been remixed from the original 24-channel multi-tapes and sound absolutely fantastic. The box also includes a 60-page photo book and various facsimiles of posters, flyers, tickets and much more.
The double LP "Another Budokan 1978" was released at the same time and can be seen as a supplement to the original from 1978. It contains 16 selected, previously unreleased songs from the legendary concerts. These include immortal classics such as "Like A Rolling Stone", "The Man In Me" and "Forever Young".
Anyone who needs the full vinyl service will have to resort to the Japanese import, as was the case 45 years ago. "The Complete Budokan 1978 (Limited Edition)" contains 8 LPs in a high-quality box and the same extensive bonus material as the 4-CD deluxe box.
