This album is a sequel to "Home Cookin'". It was recorded on the same day as "Back At The Chicken Shack" in April 1960. The quartet has three from "Home Cookin'" (JS, guitarist Kenny Burrell and drummer Donald Bailey). The change is the saxophonist. Stanley Turrentine successfully replaces Percy France. The result is that we have the perfect "funky blues- jazz" group. Turrentine and Burrell are perfect partners to the unique sound of Jimmy Smith's Hammond organ. Bailey is the perfect drummer for this grouping. This album has five tracks of moderate length. Only two are "originals", the title track from Smith, and one from Turrentine. Two of the others ( "One O'Clock Jump" and "Jumpin' The Blues") are jazz standards, and one "popular song". There is sufficient variety among the tunes to make this a most enjoyable album.
