"Mother Ship" was the sixth and last album by the experimental Hammond organist Larry Young for the Blue Note label in 1969. He can be heard here with a quartet, from which the brilliant trumpeter Lee Morgan stands out in particular. Although the album was bursting with unbridled kinetic energy and also featured a few more soulful, groovy pieces from the organist's pen, it was not released until 1980, two years after Young's death.
