R'n'B and soul from Great Britain? Already with her debut ten years ago, Corinne Bailey Rae proved that the island has a lot to offer in this respect and climbed directly to number one in the UK charts. After that, however, fans of the British soul singer and composer had to wait, because the follow-up took four years. It even took another six years for her new album to be released. in 2016, the wait is finally over. "The Heart Speaks In Whispers" is longplayer number three. One reason for the long release break: Corinne Bailey Rae set up her own recording studio at home in Leeds. The majority of the recordings for "The Heart Speaks In Whispers" also took place there. For the final production, however, it went to Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, where the singer received support from some real industry professionals, including Pino Palladino, Esperanza Spalding, Marcus Miller, James Gadson and Valerie Simpson. The result is twelve new songs, in which Corinne experiments not only with soul, jazz and pop, but now also with R'n'B. Corinne gave a first impression of the sound of the new album in advance with the three singles "Been To The Moon", "Green Aphrodisiac" and "Hey, I Won't Break Your Heart". "The Heart Speaks In Whispers is available on CD and as a double LP. In addition, there is a deluxe edition that includes four bonus tracks. Quality takes time, sometimes even six years. With "The Heart Speaks In Whispers" Corinne Bailey Rae now makes clear how much the wait was worth it.
