When it comes to the world's best guitarists, you only have to count to two: Paco de Lucia and John McLaughlin are among the very few giants of their profession. They were two-thirds of the legendary "Friday Night in San Francisco" trio, and on their own they are style-setters in flamenco and jazz, respectively. On July 15, 1987, the two maestros took the stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival for a unique joint concert that is now finally - almost thirty years later - enjoying its well-deserved premiere. An unforgettable evening for the audience can now be relived by all fans of the two: The show opened McLaughlin with a solo piece, then de Lucia also with a solo. This was followed by one virtuoso duet after another, pieces from the solo albums of the two, albums of the "Guitar Trio" and exclusive versions of pieces by Chick Corea and Egberto Gismonti.
