Popis
French-American singer Rosemary Standley follows up here on her successful album Love I Obey (jpc 6660195) and, after the Baroque, now turns to German Romanticism. For her project with Sandrine Piau and the Ensemble Contraste, she has chosen some of Franz Schubert's best-known and most popular songs and instrumental pieces. In arrangements by Johan Farjot and with guests such as jazz trumpeter Airelle Besson, guitarist Kevin Seddiki and percussionist Jean-Luc di Fraja, she embeds his music in the rhythms and traditions of foreign lands. There is probably no more emphatic way to refute the cliché of Schubert as a well-behaved Biedermeier composer.
